July 20, 2017

N.C. Vending Association, Beth Bowen, info@ncvend.com

CARY, N.C. - Over 150 members and guests gathered at the beautiful Jefferson Landing Golf Club and Resort in Jefferson, NC July 14-15 for the NCVA Membership Meeting and Golf outing. NCVA was happy to have friends from our neighboring associations in South Carolina (SCVA) and Virginia (VAMA) who came to the event. NCVA President Chris Taylor commented that every comment he received was overwhelmingly positive about how terrific event it was. “From the informative Board meeting to the packed house for education with Nicole Greer to the outdoor picnic and live music of the Russell ‘n Woods band, everyone was so happy with just the first day! Beth Bowen, NCVA executive director adds, “the cool mountain weather was a perfect backdrop for the golf tournament, Virginia Creeper Bike Adventure and Zaloo’s canoeing trip down the New River followed by the family style dinner held at the popular Shatley Springs Restaurant just down the road”.

It wasn’t all fun and no work as ACE Planning Committee also met while NCVA, SCVA and VAMA attended since each has members on a planning committee. Plans continue to evolve for the expo…“Kick Up Your Spurs at ACE 2017”. Operator registration is underway and exhibits are nearly sold out.

Several winners for the weekend included the Golf Tournament winning team of Scott & Lauren Denhard and Tim Bailey, longest drive by Lauren as well, closest to the pin by Cole Blair and longest putt by Kevin Johnson. NCVA PAC raised money and the winner of the 50/50 drawing was Doug Darby. ACE Announces Keynote Speaker

Join us Saturday morning at the ACE Trailblazer's breakfast from 7:3-9:30am. Keynote speaker Keni Thomas will motivate your team to take care of each other by creating leaders at every level as he guides you through an incredible story of teamwork and leadership. Inspire each and every individual to see themselves as vital to mission success.

“Blackhawk Down” is a well-documented and historically significant battle that has inspired Americans for many years. But what if you could hear the story straight from someone who was there on the streets that day? What would you want to learn and how could it help you? When you discover first-hand what makes soldiers willingly put their lives on the line for each other, then you begin to understand what it takes for you to do the same. If leading by example is something that is important to you, then you will want to hear what Keni Thomas has to say about combat.
